I looked over the Daily Sketch forum at ConceptArt for inspiration for another stretch of my fingers. Sure enough, I found a topic: Julie, my bat-winged cyborg friend.
I think it’d be easy to write a kiddie story about this Julie. Would do it myself if I had any faith in my own productivity.

Old Beale Street is coming down
Sweeties’ Snack Bar, boarded up now
And Egles The Tailor and the Shine Boy’s gone
Faded out with ragtime blues
Handy’s cast in bronze
And he’s standing in a little park
With a trumpet in his hand
Like he’s listening back to the good old bands
And the click of high heeled shoes
Old Furry sings the blues
Right. I really did try to work on my school assignment, which has nothing to do with quoting Joni Mitchell. However, it’s been a long time since I used my drawing tablet – it’s been mostly sketchbooks and pencils – and it felt too stiff and uncomfortable to manage any very pretty lines. So I leapt at the just-posted IF topic for a five minute warm-up: the blues.

I need to see how an image is going to appear in a post using this theme – so here’s an Illustration Friday submission from well over a year ago, for the topic Smitten.

Hello!
So I’ve had this webspace for at least two years now and this is the first step I’ve made towards actually making use of it. Here’s the facts:
Mwee is to be a sketch/doodle blog type of thing, possibly with a browseable gallery, once I gather the patience to browse wordpress-plugins to set that up. I have been doodling all my life, but only made an illustration student of myself little over a month ago.
Mwee might strike you as an odd name, and I can assure you, it is entirely random. It has come to be one of the many sounds I make in replacement of other sounds. Whee is, like, so last year. Mwee is the way of the future.
The current look of this doodle-blog-mess is a theme grabbed from the wordpress theme directory. I will make my own when – if – I feel like it. It’s been a long time since I mastered the art of meditation through cascading style sheets (though I still feel tempted, sorely tempted).
The miscreant behind Mwee is 22 years of age, has really bad hair, is stuck in World of Warcraft, and appreciates cats and giraffes. She’s a Norwegian with no illusions regarding her foreign language skills, and never ties her shoelaces.
